The 8th ISO-HK Scientific Program Committee

We are pleased to announce that the 8th ISO-HK Scientific Program Committee has been formed. These internationally respected leaders are recruiting outstanding session chairs who will ensure we will have the best speakers around the world.

Early Bird Registration and Abstract Submission are open!

Abstract submission has been opened at http://www.iso-hk.org/2012/congress/register on Apr 3, 2012. Abstract MUST be submitted through our online abstract submission system. The deadline of submission is May 30, 2012. Abstracts submitted by other means such as letter, email or fax will NOT be considered. Free paper (oral) presentation and poster presentation are welcomed! Acceptance letter will be issued after peer review on Jul 30, 2012.

Registration has been also opened, and online payment will be available starting from April 20, 2012. An early bird discount will be given to applicants who register online and settled payment before Aug 30, 2012 (Hong Kong Time, GMT+8). Please visit the official website (www.iso-hk.org) for discount details.

Invited speakers should use the login name and password provided in the email sent from the Central Secretariat earlier to enjoy the complimentary registration. If any confirmed invited speakers did not receive the email yet, please contact the ISO-HK Central Secretariat for further assistance (secretariat@iso-hk.org).

Weather in Hong Kong

Hong Kong has a subtropical climate with four distinct seasons: cool and dry winter, warm and humid spring, hot and rainy summer and sunny and balmy autumn. During the 8th ISO-HK, it will be winter.

Winter (December to February)

Average temperature: 13 – 18oC

Cool, dry and cloudy with occasional
winter monsoons bringing cold fronts. It can be chilly (<10oC).
Spring (March to May)

Average temperature: 17 – 26oC

Warm and a bit humid.
A sharp increase in rainfall around April.
Summer (June to August)

Average temperature: 26 – 31oC

Hot, humid and sunny with occasional showers,
thunderstorms or being hit by typhoons.
The temperature can exceed 33oC.
Autumn (September to November)

Average temperature: 20 – 26oC

The best season of the year to visit Hong Kong.
Enjoy the wonderful breeze, sunshine and comfortable temperature.
